Little Dawn Of Chickasaw
From Anna Katherine Nicholas' The Book of the Golden Retriever:
"Wochica Goldens, at Smithtown, New York, belong to Janet L. Bunce
who "as a breeder and handler of a couple of Irish Setters" started
handling dogs professionally in 1947. Her Golden Retriever kennel was
established in 1965 with her two foundation dogs, CH. Pathfinder of Lazy
Pines, CD, WC, and Little Dawn of Chickasaw, the latter purchased at
the age of five years, campaigned toward her championship but retired
(with fourteen points) for breeding purposes. Many champions have
decended from these two beautiful and even-tempered Goldens.
"Little Dawn of Chickasaw is a [GRCA] Outstanding Dam for having
produced, in the same litter by CH. Misty Morn's Sunset,CD,TD,WC,
CH. Wochica's Okeechobee Jake (multiple BIS winner), CH. Wochica's
Wind Song (multiple BOSS winner), CH. Wochica's M.J.
Protege,CD,WC (Westminster BOB and a Group 3 winner), and CH. Jib
of Cedarmoor.
"This same bitch was foster mother to Ringling Brothers-Barnum and
Bailey Circus' tiger cubs, which certainly is another proof of the versatility
of a Golden! Additionally, she has produced a number of other noted
Golden champions."
